HELENA, Mont. – Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and Montana Tech were listed on the third installment of the 2026 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week awards, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Kennan Morris, Rocky Mountain (Mont.)
Morris, a freshman from Billings, Mont., was selected as the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
Morris, a freshman, recorded the top pole vault mark in the NAIA this season in the Digger Spring Series I in Butte, Mont., for Rocky Mountain (Mont.). He cleared the height of 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5.25 inches), setting a new program record and personal best for the Battlin’ Bears.
His mark is also the NAIA ‘A’ automatic qualifying mark.
It was Morris’ first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
Men's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Morgan McClernan, Montana Tech
McClernan, a senior from Butte, Mont., was chosen as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
McClernan posted a pair of NAIA ‘B’ provisional qualifying times in a pair of meets for Montana Tech. He ran a time of 14.46 seconds in the Whitworth Peace meet in Spokane, Wash., and then ran the seventh best NAIA’s 400-meter hurdles in their home meet, the Montana Tech Spring Series I on the next day.
He clocked a time of 52.70 seconds to win the 400-meter hurdles title.
He also teamed up with Jaxon Allery, Matthew Moreni, and Zach Merrifield to race to their second fastest time in program history with a time 41.58 seconds in the 4 x 100-meter relay, which ranks 27
th in the NAIA.
It was McClernan’s second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
