BILLINGS, Mont.- Following an outstanding weekend, sophomore Isabelle Heggem was named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday morning.

Isabelle Heggem, a sophomore from Winifred, Montana, was a standout performer on the defensive end for the Battlin' Bears. In Friday's 72-58 win over Bellevue University, Heggem recorded a 26-point, 15-rebound double-double, along with three blocks. In Saturday's 55-52 win over No. 4-ranked Dakota State, Heggem snagged a career-high 20 rebounds and swatted four blocks, anchoring a Battlin' Bear defense that held the Frontier Conference's top scoring offense to 30 points under their season average.

So far this season, Heggem ranks ninth in the NAIA in rebounds per game (11.7) and is tied for third in total blocks (40), while leading the Frontier Conference in both categories.

Heggem has earned three consecutive Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week awards, as well as four total awards defensively this season and an Offensive Player of the Week honor.

She becomes the first Battlin' Bear to earn NAIA National Player of the Week honors since January 2022 (N'Dea Flye).

The No. 17-ranked Rocky Women return to the Fortin Education Center this weekend, hosting Valley City State and Mayville State.
