Six Frontier Conference teams remain on NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Six Frontier Conference teams remained on the 2025-26 NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll, the third installment of the national poll was announced Wednesday morning by the national office.

Four Frontier Conference teams are in the Top 25, while two teams are listed in the receiving votes (RV) section.

Dakota State (S.D.) remained at No. 4 ranking after boasting a 12-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play.  The Trojans, who earned 481 points in the poll, are riding a nine-game winning streak.  DaSU have been unbeatable at home (7-0) and continue to show their depth and efficiency on the road, with recent wins over MSU-Northern and Providence (Mont.) to cap a strong December stretch.

Montana Tech made the biggest jump in the national poll, rising 11 spots from No. 25 to No. 14 ranking with 285 points.  The Orediggers are 10-1 overall record and 6-1 record in Frontier Conference play.  MT is also undefeated at home (7-0) and suffered its only setback at Valley City State (N.D.) 61-58 on Nov. 22.  Montana Tech is currently on a five-game winning streak.

Rocky Mountain (Mont.) dropped two spots from No. 15 to No. 17 with an overall record of 7-3 and 5-2 Frontier Conference play.  The Battlin’ Bears are on a three-game winning streak prior to their contest in Arizona versus Benedictine-Mesa.  RMC is undefeated at home this season with 4-0 record.

Carroll (Mont.) fell eight spots from No. 16 to No. 24 ranking with 117 points.  The Saints fell to 7-5 overall record after their overtime loss to Rochester (Mich.) in Florida earlier Wednesday.  The Saints are coming off from a pair of home conference victories last weekend. 

MSU-Northern and Providence (Mont.) remained in the receiving votes (RV) section of the national poll.  MSU-N is 7-3 overall record and 5-2 record in the league, collecting 10 points.  The Argos are 8-3 overall record and 4-3 Frontier, earning eight points.

The Frontier Conference action resumes on the first weekend of Jan. 2-3, 2026.

The fourth edition of the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll release is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026.
