HELENA, Mont. – Carroll and Montana Tech received awards on the fifth installment of the 2024-25 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week, announced Tuesday.
Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Weston Means, Carroll
Means, a sophomore from Billings, Mont., was selected as the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
In an exciting competition with several early misses, CC’s Means cleared the high jump with his personal best and school record with a 2.09 meters mark (6 feet, 10.25 inches). He placed second overall in the event at Riverfront Invitational for the Saints.
The leap moved Means into a tie for second in the NAIA men’s indoor high jump as of Tuesday.
Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Matthew Moreni, Montana Tech
Moreni, a freshman from Helena, Mont., was selected as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
MT’s Moreni had a fantastic 200-meters race at the NCAA Division I meet, the Stacy Dragila Open hosted by Idaho State. He finished second in the race with a personal record time of 22.31 seconds, featuring runners from NCAA Division I and II schools.
Moreni also registered a time of 7.13 seconds in the 60-meter dash for the Orediggers.
