UMW and CC received awards on fifth installment of 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Players-of-the-Week

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western and Carroll (Mont.) received the fifth edition of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Players-of-the-Week honors, announced by the conference office Monday.

Offensive Player of the Week: Kyle Gruhler, Montana Western

Gruhler, a senior guard from Vancouver, Wash., was selected as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week.

He had another high scoring weekend as No. 24 ranked Montana Western opened their Frontier Conference play with a 2-0 record on the road.  He led all players in scoring in both games.

Gruhler dropped 26 points on 8-of-11 field goals (72.7 percent), including 4-of-6 from the 3-point line, and hit all six free throws in 107-104 victory at Valley City State (N.D.).  He followed up with 32 points on 12-of-23 field goals (52.2 percent) in UMW’s 85-72 victory at Mayville State (N.D.).

For the week, Gruhler averaged 29.0 points and 1.5 assists per game for the Bulldogs.  He was 20-of-34 from the field (58.8 percent), 8-of-15 from the 3-point line, and 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

This is Gruhler’s fourth career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Defensive Player of the Week: Kellen Harrison, Carroll (Mont.)

Harrison, a sophomore guard from Bozeman, Mont., was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

He continued his impressive defensive start to the season, coming away with seven total steals as Carroll (Mont.) went 2-0 record for the weekend on the road in Frontier Conference play.

Harrison stole the ball four times and grabbed five defensive rebounds in CC’s 85-57 win at Dickinson State (N.D.).  He followed up with three steals in Saints’ 94-82 victory at Bismarck State (N.D.).

He averaged 3.5 steals per game for Carroll.  He also averaged 3.5 defensive rebounds per game.

This is Harrison’s second career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
