HELENA, Mont. – MSU-Northern and Bellevue (Neb.) were listed on the fourth installment of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Players-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Leon Sayers IV, MSU-Northern
Sayers IV, a senior guard from Spokane, Wash., was selected as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
He was near perfect from the field in MSU-Northern 98-82 Frontier Conference season opener road victory at Providence (Mont.). He was 10-of-11 from the field (90.9 percent), 4-of-5 from the 3-point line and hit all three free-throw attempts. He dished out eight assists in the game.
The Lights went 2-0 record for the week as they also defeated at Walla Walla (Wash.). For the week, Sayers IV averaged 19.0 points per game on his 71.4 field goal percentage (15-of-21 field goals) and 5-of-10 from the 3-point line. He also contributed an average of 5.0 assists per game.
This is Sayers IV’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week: Liam Thompson, Bellevue (Neb.)
Thompson, a junior forward from Phoenix, Ariz., was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.
He led the team with three steals, blocked a shot, and hauled in five defensive rebounds in helping Bellevue (Neb.) to their 78-72 Frontier Conference season home opener over Dakota State (S.D.).
This is Thompson’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
