HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western and Montana Tech were listed on the second installment of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Players-of-the-Week awards, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Offense Player of the Week: Kyle Gruhler, Montana Western Gruhler, a senior guard from Vancouver, Wash., was selected as the Offense Player-of-the-Week for the second consecutive week.

He posted 20 or more points in both of Montana Western’s victories, going for a team-high 21 points against Warner Pacific (Ore.) and a career-high 32 points against No. 14 ranked Southern Oregon.

Gruhler shot 65.5 percent (19-of-29) from the floor, 46.6 percent (7-of-15) from the 3-point arc, and hit all eight free throw attempts for the Bulldogs.  He only missed two shots against WP, shooting 81.8 percent (9-fo-11 field goals).

He followed up with a 55.5 percent (10-of-18 field goals) versus the Raiders.  Gruhler added five rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the week.

This is Gruhler’s third career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Defense Player of the Week: Hayden Diekhans, Montana Tech Diekhans, a senior forward from Geraldine, Mont. was selected as the Defense Player of the Week.

He totaled 15 defensive rebounds for the week as No. 11 ranked Montana Tech went 2-0 record for the week, including wins over No. 14 ranked Southern Oregon and Warner Pacific (Ore.).  He added three steals and a block for the week.

Diekhans grabbed nine defensive rebounds and recorded a block versus SOU.  He followed up with six defensive rebounds and three steals versus WP.

This is Diekhans’ fifth career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
