HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) were listed on the fourth edition of the 2026 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Volleyball Players-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Monday.

Attacker of the Week
Halle Moomaw – Montana Tech
Middle Hitter | Junior | Stewardson, Ill.

Moomaw led (RV) Montana Tech to a pair of road sweeps over Mayville State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) in their Frontier Conference season opening weekend. 

She totaled 22 kills in six sets, averaging 3.67 kills per set while committing just two attack errors on 41 swings for an impressive .488 hitting percentage. 

She opened the week with 12 kills and a .478 hitting percentage in Orediggers’ 3-0 victory at Mayville State. Moomaw followed with 10 kills on 18 attempts and hit .500 in a sweep at Valley City State.

She also registered four digs and three total blocks during the two victories.

This is Moomaw’s second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.

Setter of the Week
Rhys Layton – Montana Tech
Setter | Senior | Eagle, Idaho

Layton directed an efficient (RV) Montana Tech’s attack during the two road victories in their Frontier Confrence season opening victory at Mayville State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.).  She collected 58 assists in six sets, averaging 9.67 assists per set, while adding nine digs, four kills and a block.

Layton dished out 26 assists and recorded eight digs in the 3-0 victory at Mayville State before producing 32 assists in three sets against Valley City State, an average of 10.67 assists per set. 

Layton’s setting helped Montana Tech complete the road trip without dropping a set, earning their seventh straight victory.

This is Layton’s seventh career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.

Defender of the Week
Zoey Albert – Rocky Mountain (Mont.)
Defensive Specialist/Libero | Senior | Kalispell, Mont.

Albert racked up 73 digs over 12 sets, an average of 6.08 digs per set, during three matches for Rocky Mountain (Mont.) during the Frontier Conference season opening week. 

She highlighted her week by setting a career high with 37 digs in a five-set match against MSU-Northern, averaging 7.40 digs per set. She also had 12 digs at Carroll (Mont.) and finished the week with 24 digs against No. 7 ranked Providence (Mont.). 

In addition to her 73 digs, Albert recorded nine assists and two service aces during the three-match stretch.

This is Albert’s first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.
