HELENA, Mont. – The Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference announced their first women’s volleyball Players-of-the-Week honors of the 2026 season Monday, with Montana Tech’s Rhys Layton and Halle Moomaw joining Providence’s Cabry Badley among the weekly award recipients.

Attacker of the Week 
Halle Moomaw – Montana Tech

Middle Hitter | Junior | Stewardson, Ill.

The junior transfer from Heartland Community College (Ill.) reached double figures in kills in each of her first three matches with (RV) Montana Tech. She finished the Tigers Kickoff Invite with 51 kills in 15 sets, averaging 3.40 kills per set while hitting .373.

Moomaw also contributed 12 total blocks and three digs as the Orediggers went 2-1 during the tournament.

She recorded 13 kills and seven blocks in her Montana Tech debut against host-team Olivet Nazarene before posting 18 kills and two blocks in a five-set victory over Mount Marty (S.D.).

Moomaw saved her best offensive performance for the tournament finale, pounding a weekend-high 20 kills and hitting .432 in a five-set victory over Spring Arbor (Mich.). She committed just four attacking errors on 37 attempts and added three blocks.

This is Moomaw’s first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.

Setter of the Week
Rhys Layton – Montana Tech

Setter | Senior | Eagle, Idaho

Layton helped (RV) Montana Tech post a 2-1 record at the Tigers Kickoff Invite hosted by Olivet Nazarene (Ill.).

The senior setter racked up 107 assists over 15 sets, averaging 7.13 assists per set. She also contributed 34 digs, eight service aces, four kills and a block while recording an assists-digs double-double in all three matches.

Layton opened the tournament with 25 assists, 18 digs and three service aces in a five-set loss to host Olivet Nazarene. She followed with 34 assists and 10 digs as the Orediggers defeated Mount Marty (S.D.) in five sets.

She closed the weekend with a season-high 48 assists in Montana Tech’s five-set victory over Spring Arbor (Mich.). The performance marked the 15th time in Layton’s career that she surpassed 45 assists in a match. She added 12 digs to complete her third consecutive double-double.

This is Layton’s sixth career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week award.

Defender of the Week
Cabry Badley – Providence (Mont.)

Middle Blocker | Senior | White Sulphur Springs, Mont.

Badley totaled 19 blocks to fuel No. 6 ranked Providence (Mont.) to all three-sets sweeps in their three matches to begin the season in Paradise Volleyball Classic.  She was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. 

The senior middle blocker was a force at the net, totaling 19 blocks in 10 sets for an average of 1.90 blocks per set. She was equally effective offensively, collecting 31 kills, averaging 3.10 kills per set and posting a .443 hitting percentage.

Badley opened the season with 11 kills and five blocks while hitting .429 in a four-set victory over Indiana Tech. She followed with 12 kills on a .370 hitting percentage and six blocks as Providence swept No. 12 Oklahoma Wesleyan.

She capped the weekend with eight kills and eight blocks in a three-set victory over Doane (Neb.). Badley hit .615 in the match with no attacking errors on 13 attempts.

This is Badly’s third career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week award.
