DICKINSON, N.D. – The 2026 Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field title was not decided until the final event Sunday at Biesiot Activities Center, the two-day conference meet was hosted by Dickinson State (N.D.). Sunday was the final day of the 2025-26 Frontier Conference Championship events.
The host-team Dickinson State was leading by two points to Montana Tech after the 5000-meter run. The Orediggers placed second and the Blue Hawks finished fifth in the 4 x 400-meter relay, giving MT the conference men’s outdoor track & field title by four points.
Montana Tech scored 154 points to Dickinson State 150 points. Carroll (Mont.) was third with 142.5 points, followed by Dakota State (S.D.) fourth with 124 points. Bismarck State (N.D.) was fifth with 97 points, Rocky Mountain (Mont.) sixth with 68 points, Valley City State (N.D.) seventh with 36.5 points, Bellevue (Neb.) eighth with 30 points, Montana Western ninth with 16 points, Providence (Mont.) 10
th with 14 points, and MSU-Northern with one point.
Sunday kicked off with Kohbe Smith winning the triple jump after leaping 14.56 meters (47 feet, 9.25 inches).
DaSU’s Tysen Grinde cleared the high jump of 2.01 meters (6 feet, 7 inches) on his first attempt to win the high jump.
The Trojans added two more field event titles, thanks to Oliver Tordsen winning the discus with a mark of 49.36 meters (161 feet, 11 inches). Dylan Johansen also won the shot-put title with 15.99 meters mark (52 feet, 5.5 inches).
The running events began with the 1500-meter run, led by twin brothers Jakson and Connor Ensign. Jakson won the title in 4:00.77, followed by Connor with a time of 4:01.54.
Montana Tech earned their second relay title on Sunday in the 4 x 100-meter relay with a time of 41.21 seconds.
Oliver Morris of Carroll won the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:36.27.
MT’s Morgan McClernan captured the 110-meter hurdles title in 13.97 seconds. His teammate Jaxon Allery also won the 100-meter dash title in 10.14 seconds, edging Mustafa Taylor of DiSU (10.15 seconds).
Franklin Johns of Dakota State hit his personal record 1:53.77 to win the 800-meter run title.
CC’s Carson Krack captured the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 52.86 seconds.
Bismarck State captured the top two spots in the 200-meter dash, led by Cayden Kraft with a time of 21.44 seconds. His teammate Nathan Mathern was second in 21.49 seconds.
Justin Glass of Rocky Mountain ran a time of 15:27.82 to win the 5000-meter run title.
The Mystics closed the conference meet by winning the 4 x 400-meter relay title in 3:18.50.
