DICKINSON, N.D.  – Carroll (Mont.) takes a slim lead after the first day of the 2026 Frontier Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Biesiot Activities Center.  The two-day conference meet is being hosted by Dickinson State (N.D.).

The Fighting Saints scored 70.5 points after eight events scored in the conference meet.  Dickinson State is second with 67 points, followed by Montana Tech third with 44 points.  Ten different schools scored at least one point in the men’s team standings.

The day kicked off with the 10,000-meter run won by Montana Western’s Luke Crossely with a personal record time of 32 minutes, 20.12 seconds.

The first day saw prelims in the 110-meter hurdles and the 100-meter dash, with the top eight times advancing to the finals on Sunday.

Bismarck State (N.D.) won a thrilling 4 x 800-meter relay race, edging Carroll by just .02 seconds.  The Mystics won with a time of 7 minutes, 48.84 seconds, while the Saints posted a season best time of 7:48.86.
The running event closed with the 400-meter dash won by BSC’s Cayden Kraft in 48.01 seconds.

Reuben Hornby of CC won the javelin event with a throw of 58.86 meters (193 feet, 1 inch).  The Saints added another field event title with Carson Krack winning the long jump with a leap of 7.09 meters (23 feet, 3.25 inches).

Dylan Dahlgren of DiSU edged Zachary Haugen of DaSU in the hammer throw.  Dahlgren won the title with 58.83 meters toss (193 feet), while Haugen threw 58.45 meters (191 feet, 9 inches).  Logan Hughes of Rocky Mountain (Mont.) earned a personal record 54.94 meters (180 feet, 3 inches) to finish third.

Keenan Morri of RMC closed the first day with a monstrous mark of 5.20 meters (17 feet, .75 inches) clearance to win the pole vault.  His mark ranks No. 1 in the NAIA.

The action concludes on Sunday at 10 a.m. (Mountain Time) and wraps at 5 p.m. with the 4 x 400-meter relay.
