PHOENIX, Ariz. – Rocky Mountain (Mont.) completed a wire-to-wire performance Wednesday to capture the 2026 Frontier Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Papago Golf Club, earning the conference title after three rounds of competition Wednesday.

The Battlin’ Bears entered the final round in control of the team race and closed out the tournament with another steady performance to secure the championship. Rocky Mountain, ranked No. 19 nationally entering the event, showcased its depth throughout the week and used consistent scoring across the lineup to separate from the field.

Bellevue (Neb.) finished second overall after a strong closing round with as the best team score of the day, while Montana Tech placed third and Carroll (Mont.) rounded out the top four team finishers.

Individually, Rocky Mountain’s Grace Metcalf entered the final round trailing by two strokes and stormed back to defend her conference individual title.  She finished with a final score of 23-over-par.   

Brooklyn Materi of Dickinson State, who led after the first day, finished as a runner-up with 26-over-par.  Emma Woods of Montana Tech placed third with 28-over-par, followed by three-way tie for fourth place of 29-over-par by RMC’s Alivia Webinger and Tyla Potgieter, and Bellevue’s Shreya Suresh.

With the conference championship complete, Rocky Mountain earns the league’s automatic berth to the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship, scheduled for May 19-22 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
