KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The awards keep piling up for Montana Tech's Cade VanVleet.
A day after the Orediggers' All-American thrower won the conference's weekly honor, VanVleet earned the NAIA men's field athlete of the week award, the national office announced Wednesday.
VanVleet, a senior from Noxon, put up the third-best shot put mark in the nation over the weekend, a 16.91-meter toss at the Montana Tech Winter Series No. 2 meet in Bozeman. That performance won the event and cemented his spot in next month's NAIA indoor national championship meet by meeting the 'A' qualification standard. VanVleet was runner-up in the indoor shot put at the 2025 NAIA meet.
He also placed second in the weight throw Saturday with a 17.02m hurl. VanVleet currently ranks 15th in the NAIA in that event.
A five-time national qualifier and a three-time All-American, VanVleet will look to lead the Orediggers to the inaugural Frontier Conference indoor championship this coming weekend in Brookings, S.D.
