HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech swept the eighth and final edition of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Cade VanVleet, Montana Tech
VanVleet, a senior from Noxon, Mont., was named the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
VanVleet posted a season-best shot put of 16.91 meters (55 feet, 5.75 inches) for Montana Tech at Montana Tech Winter Series No. 2. His shot-put hit the NAIA ‘A’ automatic qualifying list and currently ranks No. 3 in the NAIA.
VanVleet added a second-place finish in the weight throw, tossing 17.02 meters (55 feet, 10.25 inches).
This is VanVleet’s sixth career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Morgan McClernan, Montana Tech
McClernan, a senior from Butte, Mont., was selected to Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
McClernan became the first Montana Tech man ever to make the NAIA ‘B’ standard qualifying mark in the 60-meter hurdles. He broke his own program record in the process, hitting 8.13 seconds to win the event title at the Montana Tech Winter Series No. 2.
McClernan also teamed up with the Orediggers’ 4 x 300-meter relay to the team title with a season best time of 2:18.70.
This is McClernan’s first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week honor.
