KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Five Frontier Conference teams are listed on the fourth edition of the 2025-26 NAIA Women’s basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll, announced by the NAIA national office Wednesday morning.
Three conference teams are ranked in the Top 25, while two other teams are listed in the receiving votes (RV) section.
Dakota State (S.D.) is enjoying strong season with a 14-3 overall record and 9-2 mark in the Frontier Conference play. DaSU is ranked No. 7 with 405 points, despite falling short in a pair of road games during their recent season-high six-game Frontier Conference road stretch.
The Trojans have been perfect at home (7-0 record) and competitive on the road (6-3 road record). The Trojans recent wins included a 93-82 victory over Bismarck State (N.D.) and a dominate 90-50 performance against Dickinson State (N.D.).
Montana Tech extended their winning streak to nine games after earning a weekend sweep over (RV) Providence (Mont.) and (RV) MSU-Northern, remaining undefeated at home with 9-0 record. The Orediggers raised their overall record to 14-1 and currently lead the Frontier Conference play with 10-1 record.
MT climbed two spots from No. 14 to No. 12 with 306 points. Montana Tech is set to play Dakota State in the battle of NAIA’s Top 15 teams at DSU Fieldhouse in Madison, S.D. Friday evening.
Rocky Mountain (Mont.) fell one spot from No. 17 to No. 18 in the national poll with an overall record of 12-5 and 160 points. The Battlin’ Bears lifted their conference record to 9-2 after extending their winning streak to five games after last weekend’s wins over Valley City State (N.D.) and Mayville State (N.D.).
RMC prepares for their three-game road stretch in the league play, visiting Providence (Mont.) and MSU-Northern this weekend.
Carroll (Mont.) fell out of the NAIA’s Top 25 national poll and was listed No. 26 in the receiving votes section with 92 points. The Fighting Saints are 11-6 overall record and 9-2 in the conference. CC, along with RMC, completed their season-high six-game home stand in the Frontier Conference play undefeated after sweeping Mayville State and Valley City State last weekend.
The Saints head to MSU-Northern Friday and Providence Saturday before returning home on Jan. 23 versus Rocky Mountain.
MSU-Northern remains in the receiving votes section with eight points. The Skylights are 12-4 overall record and 8-3 Frontier Conference, despite falling short 65-55 at then No. 14 Montana Tech last Saturday.
MSU-N is set to open their three-game home stand in Frontier Conference play versus CC and RMC this weekend. The Skylights host Providence on Jan. 20.
The fifth edition of the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll is set for Wednesday, Jan. 28.
