Orediggers and Bulldogs listed on second edition of 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Football Players-of-the-Week

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech and Montana Western were the recipients to the second edition on the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Players-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the conference office. 
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Wykece Johnson, Montana Tech

Johnson, a graduate student running back from Lexington, Miss., is the Offensive Player of the Week.

He carried No. 11 ranked Orediggers against a top-tier defense in 30-19 win over No. 25 ranked Carroll (Mont.).  Johnson rushed 34 times for 178 yards with three touchdowns. 

Two of his three rushing touchdowns came in the fourth quarter as MT maintained their lead.  He currently leads the NAIA in rushing with 345 yards in two wins over NAIA’s Top 25 teams.

This is Johnson’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Defensive Player of the Week: Tyler Walker, Montana Western

Walker, a redshirt senior defensive line from Dillon, Mont., is the Defensive Player of the Week.

He was a key part of No. 5 ranked UMW’s 52-0 shutout victory over Montana State-Northern, where he tallied a team-high 11 tackles.  Six of his tackles were a game-best six solo efforts. 

Walker recorded six tackles-for-loss of 33 yards loss for the Bulldogs.  He produced the school’s single-game record of 4.5 quarterback sacks of 25 yards loss.  He leads the NAIA in total quarterback sacks (4.5 sacks).

This is Walker’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Nate Milanowski, Montana Tech

Milanowski, a senior running back from Grand Rapids, Mich., is the Special Teams Player of the Week.

He blocked a fourth quarter punt that set up a key insurance touchdown for No. 11 ranked Montana Tech’s 30-19 road victory at No. 25 ranked Carroll (Mont.). 

This is Milanowski’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
