HELENA, Mont. – The 2025 NAIA Football season opening weekend continues Saturday afternoon. The SWX Local Sports will go to Tilleman Field in Havre, Mont., as MSU-Northern welcome No. 25 ranked Carroll (Mont.) in the season opening game for both teams. Kick-off for the non-conference contest is set for 1 p.m. (Mountain Time).
Montana State-Northern is coming off from their 1-9 overall record last season, with their last victory in the 2024 regular-season finale with a 19-13 home victory over Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Nov. 16.
Carroll was 7-3 overall record and 6-2 in the Frontier Conference last season.
CC had won the previous 12 meetings with MSU-N. Montana State-Northern is seeking to snap their losing skid with the last victory on Sept. 17, 2016 with a 28-14 victory in Havre.

The next televised match-up on SWX Local Sports will be on Saturday (Sept. 6) as Carroll plays their home opener against No. 11 ranked Montana Tech in the battle of NAIA’s Top 25 preseason teams. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (MT).
