Carroll College Scores National Qualifiers at Bobcat Challenge

BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Carroll College athletes performed well as a team at the Bobcat Challenge, adding two national qualifiers and placing twelve athletes in the top-3 in their respective events.
 
Nikki Krueger placed second and hit the NAIA-A Standard to qualify for nationals in the shot put. She currently holds the top mark in the NAIA. Chloe Gallagher also placed second. She notched the NAIA-B Standard and moved into the Top 10 in the NAIA for this season. Other second place finishers for the women included Sophie Loveless (triple jump), Natalie Yocum (800-meter), and Reghan Worley (300-meter).
 
Lee Walburn won the heptathlon, setting a personal record and maintaining the top spot in the NAIA. Brett Glaser placed second and also preserved his fifth place ranking. Chris Abell won the 60-meter hurdles.
 
"It was overall a great job by all," head coach Harry Clark said. "It's nice to have a starting point, and now we can go to work in preparation for more indoor meets."
 
The Saints return to the oval on January 29 for the Stacy Dragila Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho.
