HELENA, Mont. – Five-time defending conference champion Rocky Mountain (Mont.) was selected as the favorite in the 2026 Frontier Conference Women’s Golf Coaches’ Preseason Poll.  Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

The Battlin’ Bears collected six of the seven available first-place votes and totaled 49 points to secure the top spot in the eight-team poll. Bellevue (Neb.) received the remaining first-place vote and was picked second with 42 points.

Carroll (Mont.) was selected third with 32 points, followed closely by Dickinson State (N.D.) in fourth with 31 points. Montana Tech was fifth with 30 points.

Mayville State (N.D.) collected 18 points for sixth place, while Providence (Mont.) and Valley City State (N.D.) tied for seventh with 11 points each.

Rocky Mountain enters the 2026-27 season after continuing its dominance of Frontier Conference women’s golf last spring. The Battlin’ Bears captured their fifth consecutive conference championship at the 2026 Frontier Conference Women’s Golf Championship, held April 27-29 at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.

The 2026-27 Frontier Conference Women’s Golf Championship will return to Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, with the championship dates to be announced.

The team winner will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship in Dalton, Ga., on May 25-28, 2027.
