HELENA, Mont. – Dickinson State (N.D.) and Dakota State (S.D.) were tabbed to the first edition of the 2026 Erck Hotels Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Chloe Gunderson, Dickinson State (N.D.)
Gunderson, a senior from Powers Lake, N.D., was selected as the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
Gunderson had a stellar season debut for Dickinson State (N.D.) at the NCAA Division II meet, Marauders Outdoor Opener. She won both the shot put and discus titles with NAIA national qualifying marks.
She threw ‘A’ automatic mark of 14.18 meters (46 feet, 6.25 inches) in the shot put and ‘B’ provisional mark of 47.42 meters (155 feet, 7 inches) in the discus. She currently leads the NAIA in shot put and discus.
Gunderson also placed second in the hammer throw with 46.77 meters mark (156 feet, 2 inches), where she ranks 16
th in the NAIA hammer throw.
This is Gunderson’s first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Amelie Steins, Dakota State (S.D.)
Steins, a junior from Dusseldorf, Germany, was chosen as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
Steins was part of three new Dakota State (S.D.) school records in their season opener at Central Methodist (Mo.) Opener. She established a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.46 seconds, placing second in the event.
Steins was also on the 4 x 400-meter relay team that broke a new school record with a time of 3:56.23, placing second in the race.
Steins also produced NAIA B’ provisional qualifying mark of 5.78 meters (18 feet, 11.75 inches), which is also a new school record for Dakota State.
This is Steins’ first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
