Frontier Conference sees six teams listed on 2025-26 NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25/RV national poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Frontier Conference returned with six total teams on the fifth edition of the 2025-26 NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll, announced by the national office Wednesday.
Three teams remained in the Top 25, while three other teams are listed in the receiving votes (RV) section.

Dakota State (S.D.) has been in the NAIA’s Top 10 this season, staying at No. 7 ranking for the second straight edition.  The Trojans are 17-3 overall record after extending their winning streak to five games.  Dakota State collected 445 points to the national poll.

DaSU is scheduled to visit Valley City State (N.D.) and Mayville State (N.D.) this weekend and returns home next weekend against Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and Carroll (Mont.).

Montana Tech fell one spot from No. 12 to No. 13 ranking with an overall record of 16-2 and earned 303 points to the national poll.  The Orediggers’ nine-game winning streak came to an end at Dakota State on Jan. 16 but bounced back with two straight wins.

MT is scheduled to visit Carroll and Rocky Mountain this weekend before returning home next weekend versus Dickinson State (N.D.) and Bismarck State (N.D.).

Rocky Mountain dropped five spots from No. 18 to No. 23 ranking with an overall record of 13-7.  The Battlin’ Bears scored 113 points in the national poll, despite going 1-2 record in the previous three games.

RMC returns home this weekend versus Montana Western and Montana Tech before heading on the road at Dakota State and Bellevue (Neb.) next weekend.

Carroll was just one spot shy of returning to the NAIA’s Top 25, sitting at No. 26 spot in the receiving votes (RV) section with 85 points.  The Fighting Saints’ winning streak had grown to seven games, raising their overall record to 14-6.

CC is set to hosts MT and UMW this weekend and heads east to visit BU and DaSU next weekend.

Dakota State, Montana Tech, and Carroll each share the Frontier Conference lead with 12-2 record each in the league.  Rocky Mountain is fourth in the standings with 10-4 conference record.

MSU-Northern remains in the receiving votes section for the fourth consecutive week, collecting 23 points.  The Skylights are 13-6 overall record and 9-5 record in the conference.  MSU-N snapped their three-game losing skid after defeating Providence (Mont.) on Jan. 20.

MSU-Northern heads on the road at Dickinson State and Bismarck State this weekend and returns home next weekend versus Mayville State and Valley City State.

Providence returned to the receiving votes section, making their appearance in the RV section for the fifth time in the previous six polls.  The Argos are 11-9 overall record and 7-7 record in the Frontier Conference contests.

UP also heads on the road at DiSU and BSC this weekend and hosts VCSU and MSU next weekend.

The sixth edition of the NAIA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll is set for Wednesday, Feb. 11.
