Frontier adds fifth team to the NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll as CC rises to No. 15

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – The Frontier Conference added the fifth team to the 2025-26 NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll; the third edition of the national poll was announced Wednesday morning.

Carroll (Mont.) cracked into the Top 25 for the first time this season at No. 15 with an overall record of 8-1 and 244 points.  The Fighting Saints are 7-0 record in the Frontier Conference, featuring undefeated five-game road stretch followed by a pair of home victories in the league.

The Saints, who are on a seven-game winning streak, play three games in Arizona, starting today versus No. 22 Benedictine-Mesa (Ariz.).  Carroll will also play Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) Thursday and No. 4 Arizona Christian.

Montana Tech fell from No. 4 to No. 19 with an overall record of 10-3 and 168 points.  The Orediggers are 4-3 record in the conference.  MT is coming off from a pair of home victories over Mayville State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) last week, snapping their three-game losing skid prior.

Montana Tech is playing an exhibition game at Montana Wednesday (tonight) and plays Northwest Poly Tech on Friday evening in Fort Benton, Mont.

Three Frontier Conference teams are listed in the receiving votes (RV) section.  Bellevue (Neb.) received 43 points with undefeated records 12-0 overall and 7-0 in the Frontier.  The Bruins play at Waldorf (Iowa) Friday afternoon before returning to league play.

Montana Western fell out of the Top 25 after being ranked No. 23.  The Bulldogs are in the receiving votes section with 19 points.  UMW is 10-3 overall record and 5-2 record in the Frontier action after defeating MSU and VCSU last weekend.

Montana Western plays an exhibition game at Idaho State Thursday evening.

Rocky Mountain (Mont.) also received votes with nine points in the national poll.  The Battlin’ Bears are 8-2 overall record and 5-2 record in the league.  RMC is coming off from their split weekend, falling to Dickinson State (N.D.) and defeating Bismarck State (N.D.) last weekend.

Rocky Mountain plays in the Cactus Classic in Arizona, facing Park-Gilbert (Ariz.) Wednesday (today), Ottawa (Ariz.) Friday, and No. 13 Hope International (Calif.) Saturday.

The Frontier Conference action returns on the first weekend of Jan. 2-3 and continues for the remaining regular season schedule.

The fourth NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll is set for Jan. 14, 2026.
