GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The University of Providence women's volleyball program defeated Northwest University 3-1 to advance to the Final Site of the NAIA National Tournament Saturday night.

In the first set neither side could gain a lead by more than two until a 6-1 run from the Argos (32-2) behind kills from seniors Bella Green and Franny Martins put UP in front 13-7. The Eagles (16-13) slowly cut into the lead bringing the set with one, but UP never relinquished the lead scoring the final two points of the set off a block by seniors Sadie Giles and Bella Thompson to secure the first for the Argos 25-22.

The Argos got out to an early 6-2 lead off kills from Giles and Green in the second set, but Northwest would not go away tying the set at 13. Both teams traded points until the Eagles ended the set with a 6-1 run to take the second 25-21.

The third set was back-and-forth until four straight from the Argos behind a pair of kills from junior Cabry Taylor gave UP a 13-10 edge. The Eagles would tie the set at 15 and 23, but the Argos scored the final two points of the set with kills from junior Martyna Fiedler and Giles securing the third for UP 26-24.

The Argos continued their momentum into the fourth set, taking an early 10-3 lead behind a pair of aces from freshman Heather Barbee. UP stayed hot extending the lead out to nine following a pair of kills from senior Kiyana Faupula, and despite a late flurry from the Eagles, a kill from Green secured the fourth set for the Argos 25-18, and the match 3-1.

Three Argos reached double-digit kills with senior Bella Green with 13, junior Cabry Taylor added 11, and senior Sadie Giles tallied 10. Senior Bella Thompson totaled 52 assists, and junior Kyra Saiers had 22 digs and Giles added 21.

The Argos will be back in action on Dec. 3-6 for Pool Play at the NAIA National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
