KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four Frontier Conference football teams remained inside the Netting Professional NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 national poll; the national office announced their fourth edition of the football national poll Monday afternoon.
Montana Tech fell two spots from No. 5 to No. 7, despite earning a 49-21 Frontier East Division home victory over Dakota State (S.D.) on Oct. 4. The Orediggers extended their program best start at 6-0 record, including four wins against NAIA’s Top 25 nationally ranked teams. MT collected 349 points in the national poll. Montana Tech continues their division play Saturday at MSU-Northern.
Montana Western remained at No. 8 in the national poll with an overall record of 4-1 and tallied 340 points. After their lone setback at Montana Tech in the season opener, the Bulldogs reeled off four straight victories after opening the FC West Division with a 40-20 win at Southern Oregon.
Carroll (Mont.) rose three spots from No. 17 to No. 14 with an overall record of 4-1. The Saints collected 221 points in the national poll. CC pulled away past Arizona Christian 34-12 in the Frontier West Division Opener in Glendale, Ariz., outscoring the Firestorm 20-6 in the fourth quarter.
College of Idaho also climbed three spots from No. 25 to 22 with an overall record of 4-1. The Yotes opened their Frontier West Division with a 48-7 road victory at Simpson (Calif.). CI is idle on Saturday and returns to action on Oct. 18 at home versus UMW.
The Frontier Conference Division contests continue Saturday, highlighted with the NAIA Top 25 battle between Carroll and Montana Western in Dillon, Mont. This game will be broadcast live on SWX Local Sports with the kick-off slated for 1 p.m. (Mountain Time).

Poll Methodology
- The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
- A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
- The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
- 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
- The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
- Teams receiving only one point are not listed as “receiving votes.”
- For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
