KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rocky Mountain (Mont.) made their biggest jump in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 national poll, the fourth edition of the national poll was announced Thursday afternoon.
Rocky Mountain made a big jump, rising eight spots from No. 14 to No. 6 with 441 points. The Battlin’ Bears placed third at the NAIA Great lakes Challenge in Michigan. Three RMC runners were top-20 runners at the event.
Rocky Mountain knocked off eight top 25 programs, behind only Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor (Ind.).
Carroll (Mont.) fell three spots from No. 17 to No. 20, tying Corban (Ore.) at the No. 20 spot with 194 points.
Eleven Frontier Conference teams are preparing for the upcoming Cross Country Championships next Friday at Amend Park in Billings, Mont., hosted by Rocky Mountain. The women’s 6K race is set for 11:30 a.m. (Central Time)/10:30 a.m. (Mountain Time).
The winner of the conference cross country race will receive the automatic bid to the 2025 NAIA Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 21.
The final NAIA Cross Country Top 25 national ranking is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 11, to determine the at-large bids to the national meet.
