HELENA, Mont. – Dickinson State (N.D.) and Bellevue (Neb.) were tabbed on the eighth and final edition of the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
The Frontier Conference Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, at Amend Park in Billings, Mont. The women’s 6K race is set for 11:30 a.m. (Central Time)/10:30 a.m. (Mountain Time), followed by the men’s 8K race at 12:30 p.m. (CT)/11:30 a.m. (MT),
Men's Runner of the Week: Caleb Sarsland, Dickinson State (N.D.)
Sarsland, a junior from Bowman, N.D., was selected as the Men’s Runner of the Week for the second straight edition.
He established a new school record in the 8K for Dickinson State (N.D.) at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic. He clocked a time of 24 minutes, 21.5 seconds to finish second by two seconds.
Nearly 350 runners competed in the prestigious cross country meet in the Midwest region.
This is Sarsland’s third career Erck Hotels/Frontier Men’s Cross Country weekly honor.
Women's Runner of the Week: Grace Steinmetz, Bellevue (Neb.)
Steinmetz, a freshman from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was named as the Women’s Runner of the Week for the second straight edition.
She was first overall in the field of 275 runners in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic for Bellevue (Neb.). She split 17 minutes, 20 seconds at 5K on her way to a meet record of 20 minutes, 48.1 seconds in the 6K race.
The former meet record, held by Ellyse Tingelstad of the College of Idaho, was 20 minutes, 52 seconds. Steinmetz missed her own school record of 20 minutes, 40 seconds, set two weeks ago on a much faster course.
This is Steinmetz’s third career Erck Hotels/Frontier Women’s Cross Country weekly honor.
