BUTTE, Mont. Former Montana Tech head football coach Bob Green was presented the 2015 Ron "Swede" Kenison Memorial Award at a recent Montana Tech football game by Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson.
Green's service to the Frontier Conference and Montana Tech spans over 30 years including 24 years as head Oredigger football coach. Green's record at Tech is 140-116-1 overall and 104-73 in the Frontier. His teams won or shared six conference championships and qualified for the NAIA playoffs five times.
In addition to his coaching duties, Green also served as Montana Tech's athletic director. He continues to serve both the Orediggers and the Frontier Conference with his work with the Montana Tech Foundation.
Established in 2010, the Kenison Award is the highest honor given by the Frontier Conference and is presented to individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions made to the Frontier Conference over a long period of time. The award serves to recognize individuals that display the character and leadership qualities that match the ideals and philosophies of the Frontier Conference.
