Frontier earns 2024-25 Champions of Character® Five-Star Conference award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has recognized the Frontier Conference as a Champions of Character® Five-Star Conference for the 2024-25 academic year on Monday.  This is the fifth straight year that the conference had received the award from the national office.

All six full-time members of the Frontier Conference in 2024-25 were named Champions of Character® Five-Star Award winners.  Carroll (Mont.), MSU-Northern, Montana Tech, Montana Western, and Rocky Mountain (Mont.) received the Gold Award.  Providence earned the Silver Award.

Five newcomers to the Frontier Conference from the North Star Athletic Association also earned the Champions of Character® Five-Star Award.  Bellevue (Neb.), Dakota State (S.D.), and Dickinson State (N.D.) were listed in the Gold Award category.  Valley City State (N.D.) earned the Silver Award, while Mayville State (N.D.) collected the Bronze Award.

A total of 201 member institutions were named Champions of Character® Five-Star award winners for 2024-25.

Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition, and character promotion.  Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.

A conference is judged by established a Champions of Character Committee, having a conduct in competition oversight committee of a minimum of three members, and with at least 60 percent of members institutions must receive the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star institution award.
