Huntimer has spent the past twenty-one years as the Sports Information Director for Dakota State University, accumulating four Sports Information Director of the Year awards in the North Star Athletic Association. He has also served as the Sports Information Director for the NSAA since the 2013-14 season.
Huntimer has been involved in many aspects of the NAIA in the past year. Most notably, he served as the Media Coordinator for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Brookings, South Dakota. There, he worked with the NAIA National Office on various media duties, including writing daily highlights, verifying new meet records, coordinating live coverage, and communicating with other NAIA SIDs nationwide. Other events Huntimer has been involved in coordinating include numerous NSAA Championships and the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament Opening Round this past season.
Huntimer is an active member of the College Sports Communicators (CSC – formerly known as CoSIDA – College of Sports Information Directors of America), a CSC committee member on the diversity and inclusion, the NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA), and a member on the NAIA statistical committee. He is also on the voting committee for the NAIA National Players of the Week and the Associated Press (AP) NAIA Football All-America committee.
