HELENA, Mont. – Bellevue (Neb.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) were cited on the first installment of the 2026 Frontier Conference Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Grace Steinmetz – Bellevue (Neb.)
Sophomore | Council Bluffs, Iowa

Bellevue’s (Neb.) Steinmetz finished seventh overall out of 349 runners, completing the 5K race in 17 minutes, 34.7 seconds in the Augustana (S.D.) Twilight meet (‘under the lights’).

She was the top NAIA finisher by 35 seconds in a field featuring competitors from all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and NJCAA. 

Despite hot and humid racing conditions that pushed the race later twice, Steinmetz came within two seconds of her Bellevue school record of 17:33.0, which she established last season.

This is Steinmetz’s fourth career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.

Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Caleb Sarsland – Dickinson State (N.D.)
Senior | Bowman, N.D.

Sarsland placed seventh overall in the NCAA Division II Augustana Twilight Meet (‘under the lights’) for Dickinson State (N.D.). 

He completed the 5-kilometer course in 14 minutes, 49 seconds, featuring a total of 479 runners.

He was the top non-NCAA Division I finisher, with six runners ahead of him all competing at the NCAA Division I level. 

This is Sarsland’s fourth career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player-of-the-Week honor.
