NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the men’s track & field scholar teams and All-Academic athletes Monday. Five Frontier Conference institutions were listed, as well as 28 athletes being named to All-Academic status.
The criteria for achieving the USTFCCCA Team Scholar award, a team must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility.
For USTFCCCA All-Academic award, an athlete must meet a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and achieved an 'A' or 'B' standard in a championship event during the indoor and/or outdoor season.
Carroll (Mont.) led the Frontier Conference in team grade point average of 3.56, followed by Dakota State (S.D.) with 3.38 team GPA. Bismarck State (N.D.) registered 3.31 team GPA, Dickinson State (N.D.) 3.2 team GPA, and Montana Tech 3.07 team GPA.
Dakota State led the league with nine recipients on the All-Academic athlete list, followed by Bismarck State with seven recipients. Dickinson State recorded five athletes on the list, Carroll with four athletes, and Montana Tech with three athletes.
