DICKINSON, N.D. - Top-seed Dickinson State (N.D.) erased a late deficit and beat No. 2 seed Providence (Mont.) 8-7 on a walk-off double by Brooke Lijewski on Saturday at Bravera Field in the 2026 Frontier Conference Softball Championship.

The game summary turned on that final swing. After Providence rallied from five runs down to take a 7-6 lead in the top of the seventh, Lijewski lined a two-run double in the bottom half to bring home the winning runs and end a back-and-forth winner's bracket game between two top teams in the league.

The Blue Hawks finished with eight runs on nine hits and one error, while the Argos totaled seven runs on 11 hits and four errors. DiSU extended their winning streak to 23 games and lifted their overall record to 39-12 before heading to the championship game on Sunday at 12 p.m. (MT).

Providence (29-23 overall record) struck first in the opening inning when Kasidy Yeoman doubled and later scored as Tehneson Ehnes singled and an error allowed the run to come home.

The teams were scoreless through the second before Dickinson State broke the game open in the third.

The Blue Hawks sent six runs across in the inning, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 6-1 lead. Celina Wilharm delivered a two-run single during the outburst, and Kiley Hubby added an RBI double as Dickinson seized control.

Providence chipped away over the middle innings. Ehnes, one of the Argos’ standout performers, went 3 for 4 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored. She doubled and scored during a two-run fourth inning, when Alix Bishop contributed a sacrifice fly and Kaily Gull drove in another run with a double to cut the margin to 6-3. Ehnes then added a solo homer in the fifth, trimming Dickinson State’s lead to 6-4.

The Argos completed their comeback in the sixth. UP scored three times to move in front 7-6, with Aleana Aionaaka producing an RBI fielder’s choice and Yeoman adding an RBI single. Yeoman finished 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Madison Moultray also had a strong day for Providence, collecting three hits, scoring twice and drawing a walk while also working 3 1/3 innings in the circle.

Dickinson State still had the last answer. Lijewski, who finished with two hits, four RBIs and a double, came through in the seventh with the decisive two-run shot into the gap. Wilharm added two hits, two RBIs and two runs for Dickinson State. In the circle, Reagan King earned the win with the final two innings of work after Hope Fath started.

UP faces elimination as they take on the surprising No. 6 seed Bellevue (Neb.), who won the last three elimination games, at 3 p.m. (MT).
