DaSU's Steins and CC's Bucklin naemd to this week's Erck Hotels/Frontier Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week

HELENA, Mont. – Dakota State (S.D.) and Carroll (Mont.) received the 2026 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors for the second straight week, the sixth edition of the outdoor track & field weekly awards were announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Amelie Steins, Dakota State (S.D.)
Steins, a junior from Dusseldorf, Germany, was selected as the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
Steins hit her career and heptathlon record 4,796 points to win the 2026 Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Multi-Events Championship for Dakota State (S.D.). She is currently No. 5 in the NAIA women’s heptathlon with her NAIA ‘A’ automatic mark.
Steins broke the previous school record by herself last season with 4,375 points.
With her heptathlon title, the Trojans grabbed an early lead in the conference women’s team standings.
This is Steins’ second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Claire Bucklin, Carroll (Mont.)
Bucklin, a sophomore from Sunburst, Mont., was chosen as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
Bucklin set her personal record in the 100-meter hurdles for Carroll (Mont.) at the NCAA Division I Montana Open. She clocked a time of 15 seconds.
She was also part of the Saints’ 4 x 400-meter relay team, capturing the team title with a time of 3 minutes, 53.75 seconds. Bucklin teamed up with Chloe Raats, Katelyn Christensen, and Madalen Shipman to produce the team’s season best time in the 4 x 400-meter relay.
This is Bucklin’s second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor.
