BROOKINGS, S.D.  – The 2026 Frontier Men’s Indoor Track & Field Conference Championships at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex are set to deliver one of the most tightly contested meets in the league’s inaugural indoor conference meet.  Six events were scored toward the men’s indoor track & field conference team standings.

Carroll (Mont.) holds a narrow edge with 44 points ahead of Dakota State’s (S.D.) 42 points, with Bismarck State (N.D.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) tied at third with 34 points.  Montana Tech is fifth with 28 points, followed by Rocky Mountain (Mont.) sixth with 23 points.

The throws and jumps have already proven pivotal for Dickinson State, which wins from weight throw champion Dylan Dahlgren at 19.29 meters (63 feet, 3.5 inches) and long jump winner Kohbe Smith at 6.91 meters (22 feet, 8 inches) to stay squarely in the men’s trophy chase.

Bismarck State’s presence near the top of the standings has been driven by standout performances on the track, particularly in the mid-sprints and relays. The Mystics captured the men’s 4 x 800-meter relay in 7:46.59 and received a major boost from 400-meter winner Cayden Kraft, who clocked 47.69 seconds to solidify his status as one of the meet’s premier quarter-milers.  His teammate Nathan Mathern finished second in 48.11 seconds, while CC’s Carson Kraft finished third in 49.12 seconds.

Rocky Mountain claimed the top two spots to kick off the running events of 5000-meters.  John Spinti won the title in 14 minutes, 56.74 seconds, while his teammate Justin Glass finished second in 15:04.76.
As finals continue in Brookings, the combination of tight team scores, top-end individual talent and high-stakes event matchups positions the Frontier Indoor Conference Championships as a compelling benchmark in the conference’s track and field calendar.
