HELENA, Mont. – Dakota State (S.D.) swept the Player- and Pitcher-of-the-Week honors on the first installment of the 2026 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Baseball weekly awards, announced by the conference office Monday. 

Pitcher of the Week: Ryland Carroll, Dakota State (S.D.) Carroll, a freshman third baseman/pitcher from Brandon, S.D., was named the Pitcher-of-the-Week.

As a true freshman, Carroll tossed a complete game 7-inning victory for Dakota State (S.D.) over Park (Mo.) 2-1 in the challenging Cajun Collision preseason tournament in Louisiana.  He limited the Pirates to one unearned run on three hits and recorded 10 strikeouts (12.86 K/per 9 innings) in his first career collegiate start for the Trojans.

Carroll did not record a hit-by-pitch in the game.  Dakota State went 2-2 record in the tournament.

This is Carroll’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Player of the Week: Cameron DeMaria, Dakota State (S.D.) DeMaria, a senior first baseman from Fresno, Calif., was selected as Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

He kicked off the 2026 season with three consecutive multi-hits game as Dakota State (S.D.) went 2-2 record in the Cajun Collision.  He opened the season by going 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in three runs in 5-4 win over Louisiana Christian.

He followed up with a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs, despite falling to LSU-Alexandria in a high scoring affair.  DeMaria went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including the game-winning RBI single in the top seventh to hold off Park (Mo.) 2-1.

DeMaria finished the week by going .615 batting average at the plate (8-of-13 at-bats), .769 slugging percentage with two doubles and six singles.  He drove in seven runs in the tournament and scored twice.

This is DeMaria’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
