DaSU and MSU-N received sixth installment of 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Women’s Volleyball Players-of-the-Week awards

HELENA, Mont.  –  Two athletes from Dakota State (S.D.) and an athlete from MSU-Northern were selected on the sixth installment of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Volleyball Players-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the conference office.

Attacker of the Week: Macey Wathen, Dakota State (S.D.)

Wathen, a junior middle hitter from Rapid City, S.D., was chosen as the Attacker of the Week.

Wathen posted double digits kills and committed just one attack error in guiding (RV) Dakota State (S.D.) to a pair of 3-set sweeps.  She smashed 12 kills in 17 attempts for .706 hitting percentage in Trojans’ victory over Montana Western.  She followed up with 11 kills and .455 hitting percentage in sweeping No. 19 ranked Montana Tech.

For the week, Wathen averaged 3.8 kills per set and produced an astounding .564 hitting percentage.  She added two blocks for the week.

This is Wathen’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Setter of the Week: Maddi Langerock, Dakota State (S.D.)

Langerock, a senior setter from Balaton, Minn., was named as the Setter of the Week.

Langerock fueled (RV) Dakota State (S.D.) to a pair of 3-set sweeps, including a victory over No. 19 ranked Montana Tech.  She opened the weekend with 34 set assists (11.3 assists per set) and four digs in victory over Montana Western.  She followed up with a double-double of 42 set assists (14.0 assists per set) and 14 digs (4.7 digs per set) in Trojans’ victory over the Orediggers.

For the week, Langerock averaged 12.7 assists and 3.0 digs per set.  She is currently No. 2 in the NAIA in assists per set (11.46 assists per set), which also leads the Frontier Conference.  She added five kills and a service ace for the week.

This is Langerock’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Defender of the Week: Lexi Jones, MSU-Northern

Jones, a freshman from Heritage Pointe, Albera, Canada, was selected as the Defender of the Week.

She tallied 15 blocks for the week as the Skylights earned a pair of road victories last weekend.  Jones collected nine blocks (2 solos, 7 assists) in MSU-N’s 3-2 victory at (RV) Dickinson State (N.D.).  She followed up with six blocks (1 solo, 5 assists) in victory over Bismarck State (N.D.).

Jones averaged 1.88 blocks per set for the week for Montana State-Northern.

This is Jones’ first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
