Six Frontier Conference women’s volleyball teams rank in the NAIA’s Top 25 national poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Frontier Conference teams are listed inside the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 national poll; the second edition of the regular season national poll was announced Wednesday morning.  Three more Frontier Conference teams were listed in the receiving votes (RV) section.

Providence (Mont.) climbed one spot from No. 5 to No. 4 in the latest national poll with 449 points and an overall record of 12-1.  The Argos are currently on an 11-match winning streak (nine of those 11 matches were won in straight sets), with the last loss coming at the hands of current No. 1 Eastern Oregon.

Bellevue (Neb.) fell two spots from No. 3 to No. 5 with 438 points and an overall record of 82.  The Bruins are on a rebound after a loss at Dickinson State (N.D.) on Sept. 6.  BU’s latest wins were in 3-0 sweeps over then No. 24 Dakota State (S.D.), Rocky Mountain (Mont.), and (RV) Carroll (Mont.).

Montana Tech moved up two spots from No. 21 to No. 19 with 205 points.  The Orediggers raised their overall record to 9-2 after ballooning their winning streak to seven matches (five of those matches were in three sets sweep).  MT is one of the two teams (Providence) that are undefeated in the league (5-0 record). 

Dakota State (S.D.) fell from No. 24 to receiving votes section.  The Trojans (7-3 overall record) are just one spot shy of being inside the NAIA’s Top 25 poll with 50 points.

Carroll (Mont.) (7-6 overall record) remained in the receiving votes section with 16 points, followed by Dickinson State (N.D.) (7-3 overall record) with 12 points.  The Blue Hawks’ highlighted with a pair of home victories over a pair of NAIA’s Top 25 nationally ranked teams on Sept. 5-6.
