GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The No. 2 seed Providence Argos emerged victoriously in the Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Postseason Tournament Championship game, decisively defeating the Rocky Mountain Battlin' Bears with a final score of 69-50. It was the second straight conference postseason tournament title for the Argos, earning the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament.

Providence set the tone from the start of the game, leading 36-21 by halftime and maintaining their advantage throughout the contest. Keanna Salave'a led the scoring for the Argos with 15 points, complemented by a noteworthy performance from Kolby Pimperton who contributed 12 points, including crucial three-pointers that extended the lead for their team. Together, they played pivotal roles in securing the championship victory for Providence.

The game, held at the Pacific Steel & Recycling Arena, witnessed a top-tier performance by the Argos' players, who effectively stifled the top-seeded team's attempts to close the gap. While the Battlin' Bears had impressive contributions from Iliana Moran, who scored 15 points, it wasn't enough to take the day. Other contributors for the Argos included Eliannah Ramirez, Ainsley Thurber, and Brenna Linse, who collectively bolstered the team's defensive and offensive plays.

The victory marks a significant milestone for Coach Bill Himmelberg and his team as they now await the NAIA tournament field announcement, hopeful to host the first and second rounds in Great Falls. This achievement sets the stage for their next challenges in the national tournament, scheduled to commence on March 14-15. Fans and supporters are eager to see how far the Argos can go in the pursuit of further glory, riding high on their recent triumph.

Rocky Mountain will see if they will get an at-large invitation to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament. The NAIA Women's Basketball Selection Show will be held on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. (CT)/5 p.m. (MT).
