HELENA, Mont. – Rocky Mountain (Mont.), Mayville State (N.D.), and Eastern Oregon each had an athlete on the eighth edition of the 2025 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Players-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Monday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Eric Lira, Rocky Mountain (Mont.)
Lira, a senior wide receiver from Phoenix, Ariz., is the Offensive Player of the Week.
He became the first player in the Frontier Conference this season with 200-plus receiving yards, fueling Rocky Mountain (Mont.) to their 28-21 home victory over Dickinson State (N.D.).
Lira caught 13 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He totaled the most receiving yards by a Battlin’ Bear in a single game since 2017, leading RMC to a 2-0 record in divisional play.
This is Lira’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week: DeAnthony Thompson, Mayville State (N.D.)
Thompson, a freshman linebacker from Las Vegas, Nev., is the Defensive Player of the Week.
He caught three interceptions with 101 total yards in return in Mayville State’s (N.D.) 21-17 home victory over Montana State-Northern. One of his interceptions was a 75-yard return for ‘Pick Six’ touchdown to extend MSU’s lead to 21-7 in the second quarter after the PAT extra point kick.
Thompson finished the game with eight tackles (3 solos, 5 assists) for Mayville State.
This is Thompson’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Ethan Cutler, Eastern Oregon
Cutler, a senior kicker/punter from Eagle, Idaho, is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
He delivered a standout performance in the kicking game, propelling Eastern Oregon to a 21-7 road victory at Southern Oregon. He booted seven punts for 309 yards, averaging 44.1 yards per punt. He registered a game-long 67-yard punt and placed two punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
Additionally, Cutler had three punts of over 50 yards for EOU. He totaled 249 yards on four kick-off attempts (62.3 yards per kick-off). He was perfect on PAT extra point kicks, going 3-for-3.
This is Cutler’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
