HELENA, Mont. – The NAIA announced its three men’s basketball All-America teams Monday, just days after the conclusion of the 86th annual NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Andrew Cook of Carroll and Asa Williams from Montana Tech were each named to one of the three teams.
Cook was named First Team All-American after leading Carroll to an appearance in the NAIA National Championship. The junior was the Frontier Conference Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring at 20.5 points per game. Cook becomes the 19th NAIA All-American in Carroll program history, and the sixth to make the first team.
After helping Montana Tech win the Frontier regular season and tournament titles, Williams was named Third Team All-American. The First Team All-Frontier selection finished fifth in the conference in scoring at 16.3 points per game. Williams is the fifth NAIA All-American selection in Montana Tech program history and the Orediggers have now had a player make one of the three teams in three consecutive seasons.
