HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western, Carroll, and Montana Tech were recipients to the eighth edition of the Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference football weekly awards, announced Monday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Jake Humphrey, Montana Western
Humphrey, a sophomore running back from Walla Walla, Wash., is the Offensive Player of the Week.
Humphrey led the No. 6 ranked Bulldogs with a career-high 215 rushing yards in 42-24 road victory at Rocky Mountain. He rushed 20 times in the game and ran for five touchdowns. Humphrey averaged 10.8 yards per rush.
The last time a Bulldog running back rushed for over 200 yards was Reese Neville back in 2021 against Rocky.
This is Humphrey’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Defensive Player of the Week: Hunter Peck, Carroll
Peck, a senior defensive end from Windsor, Colo., is the Defensive Player of the Week.
He led the Saints with 10 tackles, tallying an impressive 3.0 tackles-for-loss (TFL) and a pair of quarterback sacks in 24-19 home victory over Eastern Oregon.
Peck joined the 100-tackle club at Carroll, sitting at 109 tackles in his career.
This is Peck’s second career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Levi Torgerson, Montana Tech
Torgerson, a junior wide receiver from Great Falls, Mont., is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
For the second time this season, Torgerson returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown in Orediggers’ home victory over Simpson (Calif.). He returned 89 yards kick-off for a touchdown.
He also stacked up 113 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns on three catches. Torgerson finished with 277 all-purpose yards (89 kick-off return yards, 57 punt return yards, and 113 receiving yards).
This is Torgerson’s second career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
