Sarsland captured the individual title at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Open on Oct. 9 in Billings, Mont., which served as a preview of the upcoming Frontier Conference Cross Country Championships.
He completed the men's 8-kilometer race in 24 minutes, 37 seconds, finishing first among 105 runners in the field.
Sarsland crossed the finish line 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up and 37 seconds faster than the next closest NAIA competitor.
This is Sarsland’s sixth career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor, his third honor this season.
