Pitcher of the Week: Kody Butt, Bellevue (Neb.)
Butt, a junior pitcher from St. John’s Newfoundland, was named the Pitcher-of-the-Week.
He struck out a career-high 13 times in six innings of three-hit ball in No. 7 ranked Bellevue’s (Neb.) 10-2 win over Aquinas (Mich.), propelling the Bruins to their 15-3 start (matched the best start in program history with the 1999 and 2016 squads).
Butt now racked up 32 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings of work (13.50 K/9 per innings) and improved to 3-1 record on the pitching mound.
This is Butt’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
