Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Ayla Janzen, Montana Tech
Janzen, a sophomore from Silver Star, Mont., was selected to Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
Janzen recorded a pair of runner-up finishes in the track events for Montana Tech in the Montana Tech Winter Series No. 2. She clocked a time of 8.89 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, followed by 7.82 seconds in the 60-meter dash.
Janzen ranks fourth in the Frontier Conference in both events.
Besides her track events, she hit the NAIA ‘A’ automatic mark in the long jump with 5.78 meters mark (18 feet, 11.75 inches), which tied for 13
th best in the NAIA. Her mark also tied for second best mark in the Frontier Conference with her teammate Abby Clark.
This is Janzen’s first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week honor.
