Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Maya Pearcy, Rocky Mountain (Mont.)
Pearcy, a junior from Columbus, Wis., was selected to Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
She improved her NAIA ‘A’ automatic qualifying time in the 800-meter run for Rocky Mountain (Mont.). She clocked a time of 2 minutes, 12.48 seconds in the race at the Carignan Classic, placing third amongst a field of NCAA Division I competition.
Pearcy’s time was adjusted to 2 minutes, 11.75 seconds due to altitude. Her time is the fastest in the Frontier Conference and third in the NAIA.
This is Pearcy’s second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week honor.
