Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week: Abby Clark, Montana Tech
Clark, a graduate student from Fort Benton, Mont., was named the Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
She won two of the five pentathlon events (shot put and high jump) on her way to a win over primarily NCAA Division I and II competitors at the Riverfront Invitational and Multi’s in Spokane, Wash. Her pentathlon score of 3,576 points ranks her No. 2 in the NAIA and leads the Frontier Conference this season.
Clark produced a new Montana Tech school record in the high jump with a personal record of 1.70 meters (5 feet, 7 inches). Her high jump mark also qualified her for the NAIA national meet with the ‘A’ automatic qualifying standard, tying for fourth best high jump mark in the NAIA.
This is Clark’s third career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor.
