Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week: Matthew Moreni, Montana Tech
Moreni, a sophomore from Helena, Mont., was selected as the Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
He broke a pair of school records for Montana Tech in the Spokane (Wash.) Indoor Challenge. He broke his own program records of 21.83 seconds in the 200-meter dash and 49.50 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Moreni also produced a personal record time of 6.96 seconds in the 60-meter dash for the Orediggers.
With his times last weekend at the Spokane Indoor Challenge, Moreni currently leads the Frontier Conference in the 200-meter dash, third in the 400-meter dash, and sixth in the league’s 60-meter dash.
This is Moreni’s second career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week honor.
