She was the overall champion in the Dordt (Iowa) Holiday Inn Express Classic. Steinmetz turned in the fastest time among 246 runners in two races that included NCAA Division I, II, and NAIA athletes.
Her time for 6K was 20 minutes, 40.4 seconds, which is Bellevue’s (Neb.) new school record. She broke her previous own school record time of 21:33.7 two weeks ago at Dordt Prairie course. Steinmetz shattered the previous course record time of 21:52.6.
