Defensive Player of the Week: Spencer Lehnerz, MSU-Northern
Lehnerz, a senior defensive back from Power, Mont., is the Defensive Player of the Week.
He fueled the Skylights with their first win of the season, a 23-7 home victory over Eastern Oregon. Lehnerz collected nine tackles, a quarterback sack, and three tackles-for-loss of 12 yards.
He caught two interceptions in the game for a total return of 40 yards. Lehnerz returned a 15-yard ‘Pick Six’ interception return for a touchdown to extend MSU-Northen’s lead to 20-7 in the third quarter.
This is Lehnerz’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
