Special Teams Player of the Week: Maclain Burckley, Montana Western
Burckley, a redshirt freshman kicker/punter from Billings, Mont., is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
He had a perfect day on kicking as No. 9 ranked Montana Western pulled away past Rocky Mountain (Mont.) 35-21 on the road. He was perfect 3-for-3 on PAT extra point kicks and 2-for-2 on field goals.
Burckley drilled a season-best 47-yard attempt, the longest by any kicker in the Frontier Conference thus far this season, just before the half to put the Bulldogs up 13-7. He also hit a 31-yard try early in the second quarter.
He recorded four punts for an average of 45.0 yards, with all his four punts landing inside the 20-yard line.
This is Burckley’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
